General Ledger Accountant

Accounting position for the corporate entities of a $16B hedge fund investment advisor. Oversee the accounting of several different corporate entities of a multistrategy hedge fund advisor in the general ledger accounting system. The position reports to the Assistant Controller and Controller and works closely with accounts payable and a variety of other internal departments including fund accounting. Person must be diligent and self motivated with attention to detail.

Daily responsibilities include:

• Identify daily activity in bank accounts
• Reconcile over 20 different bank accounts for several different corporate entities including a London subsidiary
• Post journal entries in MAS90, the company general ledger accounting software package
• Work closely with Fund Accounting group to identify bank loan wire activity in one corporate entity
• Prepare and distribute 1099s to vendors
• Track and maintain fixed asset ledger by coordinating with Technology and Accounts Payable. Prepare schedules for reporting of fixed assets
• Assist with the preparation of other reports provided to management
• Assist with year end audits
• Assist with preparation of month-end financial statements, cash flow statements, budgets
• Assist with quarterly and annual tax filings

Requirements:
4 year degree in Accounting
Proficient with Excel spreadsheets
Excellent communication skills
